My First Application Course at ITP

The teacher of this course is Nancy, my advisor, a very kind lady.

This first class is not about academic, but about the spirit here in ITP, which formed by Red Burns and her colleagues, including Nancy. I believe Nancy must be Red’s best friend back in their time.

The following speaking, presented by Carter Emmart, a guest professor, who has an extremely long title. The topic is a 3D universe.

Firstly, the scene is the blue bubble, our earth. As he navigates on the earth, he told us the story behind of this 3D project and the amazingness of our earth. Eventually, for me, the most mind-blowing part is that the radio we have created in the past 35 years, only reached a small area of the universe, too small to be captured by any other form of life in the universe.

I started thinking, maybe some of the stars are just exploded, and we will never know it until thousands of years later. And maybe some form of life prospers on a planet right now, just like us, but we will never know it until thousands of years later until the light arrives our sight. Maybe they are expecting us to show in their telescope right now, but they will only able to know it million years later?

Who knows, the only thing I know is:

The universe is truly amazing.
